Chef Mario Bernatovic had already worked in some of the finest establishments in Vienna before opening his own venue, Kussmaul, in the summer of 2014. Showcasing his regional, organic cooking, Kussmaul houses a restaurant, café-pâtisserie and bar, that impose no limitations on Bernatovic’s creativity.
Kussmaul’s gleaming open kitchen takes center stage, and patrons can enjoy the view as their culinary innovations are prepared. Each plate is artfully prepared, with a vibrant of colors and textures designed to dazzle. In the dining room, oiled oak tables, abstract pendant lights and polished, wood-lined walls set a relaxed, modern Expert bakers turn out homemade bread daily, and the café-pâtisserie offers small plates and freshly baked treats. And the bar is impressively stocked with a broad selection of wines and spirits, all carefully presented by Kussmaul’s exceptionally knowledgable and friendly staff.
There is a wealth of good food to partake of in Austria, and if your preference is fresh, modern, and beautifully presented cuisine, Kussmaul must be at the top of your list!
